Description:
Our Voyages in Circus class focuses on skill building, classroom etiquette and fun for ages 4-6 who have instructor permission to join. This is a novice level class for students not yet old enough for Youth Circus 101 or 201 that focuses on finishing the requirements needed to move onto our Youth Circus 101 or 201 classes while reviewing previous knowledge and building on skills at a younger age level and pace.
Students will learn what it means to work together with others, follow directions in class, and work safely on circus equipment. The class will be split between learning circus skills and games/open play with circus equipment. Students will be challenged as they work on novice level circus vocabulary, do obstacle courses, and play games to encourage creative expression and cooperation. Voyages in Circus aims to prepare kids ages 4-6 for the beginning of our skill and progression focused youth program, so they are ready to join Youth Circus 101 (ages 7-12) or Youth Circus 201 (ages 7-12) in the future.
Every class will consist of a warm-up, skill building, and cool down. Instructors will work with students on completing the requirements for moving up to another class level. Students will alternate learning fabric and trapeze each week and focus on a few ground skills over the session. These skills could include tightwire, mini trampoline, juggling, tumbling and acrobatics, and human pyramids. All classes at SHOW focus on vocabulary retention, interpersonal life skills, and having fun in a safe environment.
For children looking to learn something new and exciting, the circus is a non-competitive, artistic, fun and safe discipline! All classes at SHOW focus on vocabulary retention, interpersonal life skills, and having fun in a safe environment. Circus is a great way to increase self-esteem, have fun, get in shape, improve focus and learn skills that will translate into every aspect of your child’s life. Circus for Fun, Circus for Life.
Any cancellation made by the student before the first day of class will be given a 100% refund. Any cancellations made by the student after the first class of the session has run is not eligible for a refund (special exceptions may be made for medical situations). If a single class is canceled by the studio (due to weather, staff availability, etc.), the cost of that class will be credited to your P13 account based on the single per class rate.
Please note—if you miss a class due to COVID-related reasons, the cost of that class will be credited to your P13 account based on the single per class rate. As a result absences due to COVID will not be eligible for free Open Studio make-ups, but you may use your account credit to pay for Open Studios.
In the event that only one student is present for any given class, the class will automatically be changed to 1 hour in duration.
