This intro-level, play-based class is aimed at students (ages 8-12) who benefit from a more flexible class structure. This class is an opportunity for participants to find or build specific circus skills that interest them. Each student will be able to specialize or explore a variety of skills, in a cooperative environment that enriches social development, builds confidence, body awareness, and problem-solving skills.
We will combine group activities and teaching with time to focus on individual interests. Following a group warm-up, each class will offer various circus skills that meet the needs of the students and change from week to week. These may include: aerial fabric, trapeze, tightwire, tumbling, juggling, clowning, mini trampoline and more!
This class is aimed to support students who would benefit from a safe place to take risks physically and social/emotionally. Social thinking, motor/impulse control, and emotional regulation will all be integrated into class, bridging the development of life skills with the fun of circus!
For people looking to learn something new and exciting, circus is a non-competitive, artistic, fun and safe discipline. All classes at SHOW focus on vocabulary retention, interpersonal life skills, and having fun in a safe environment. Circus is a great way to increase self-esteem, have fun, get in shape, improve focus and learn skills that will translate to every aspect of your life. Circus for Fun, Circus for Life.
