The Friday evening class is open to drop-in students as space permits. New students are welcome to drop into the first week of each mini session. Beyond that week, drop-in students must have attended at least one day of an aerial yoga class or a workshop previously, as class material after the first week builds on having some experience in the basics of aerial yoga. Space is limited, however, so registration ahead of time is encouraged to secure your spot.

Description: All level gentle to moderate flow class with challenging variations.

This class is suitable for all students who are new or returning to aerial yoga. We will cover all of the fundamental Unnata® Aerial Yoga postures, with focus on gaining comfort in the air and in supported inversions. There will be a balance of strength building and relaxation in each class, with plenty of time given for students to explore each new pose.

Aerial yoga uses a low hanging fabric sling to support the body in different aerial yoga poses. Some poses look quite similar to traditional yoga poses, others are literally turned upside down. Classes will include core and upper body strengthening exercises, poses to increase flexibility, and many poses that allow gravity to gently traction and release the spine. Expect a strong practice and some delicious relaxing poses unique to the aerial sling.

Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Please arrive 15 minutes early to your first class and any subsequent drop-in class. New students are not permitted to drop into classes 2-5 of each mini session without previous experience. Wear long leggings or pants and a lightweight long-sleeved shirt, and remove all jewelry. Please be aware that the first ten minutes of class will be used to adjust the slings to the height of each student so that everyone has an enjoyable class experience.

Cancellation policy Any cancellations before the first day of class will be given a 100% refund minus the $5 non-refundable registration deposit. Any registrations cancelled after the first class are not eligible for a refund. Special exceptions may be made for medical situations. All classes canceled by the studio will be credited to your Pike 13 account based off of the single class rate. Students may substitute up to two missed classes during a session as free open studios.
